A Symbol in Culture: the Genesis - Functions - Significance

Abstract
The article analyzes the set of social functions of a symbol in culture, the roles of the symbolic production in social communication, the building of the general concepts of a language as symbols. There are compared the role of religion and art and the role of language and social behavior as sources of the symbolic production.
