Phenomenon of “Handmade”: a Leisure Project in the Modern Culture

Abstract

The article analyzes such a complex phenomenon of the modern culture as “handmade”. The authors not only examine some specific features of the phenomenon, but also use it as an example to show main principles of the modern culture’s functioning and of a person’s self-realization in the sphere of everyday life. Key words: handmade, leisure project, cluster, recipe, the Self, everyday life, the Thing, culture industry
